Namibia Bird Club

The Namibia Bird Club is a membership-based society established in 1962 to fill a void in knowledge and interest surrounding birds of Namibia
Objectives

We are involved in numerous bird related activities and projects and publish a journal, Lanioturdus. We also arrange birding outings on a regular basis.

The Namibia Bird Club wants to prevent birds from becoming extinct.

We are working to: Contribute to research on some issues and educate local children and communities about birds. Furthermore, publish bird educational materials; lobby Government ministries for better protection of birds and establish a system to monitor several important sites. Lastly, promote eco-tourism and so emphasise the full potential financial value of birds and contribute data for the Atlas of Southern African Birds.
